Machine Control Models & Support
Machine control is only as good as the model behind it. We build models specifically for operators and the way machines work in the field, clean, practical and ready to load.
Book A MeetingA Converted Design File Is Not a Model
Most machine control problems are model problems, and they surface at seven in the morning with a machine sitting idle.
Ambiguity in the Model
Surfaces that overlap, conflict or leave the operator guessing which one applies. The machine will follow whichever it is told to.
Unnecessary Complexity
A model carrying every element of the design slows the machine and buries the surface the operator actually needs.
Calibration Drift
A localisation that was right at handover and has quietly moved since, so the machine is accurate against the wrong datum.
Version Control
Two machines running different revisions of the same model is a problem nobody notices until the levels disagree.
Models, Control and Support
Our capabilities extend well beyond bulk earthworks, into the high-precision work where accuracy is critical.
Bulk Earthworks Models
Clean, practical models optimised to maximise productivity while reducing ambiguity and unnecessary complexity.
Subgrade and Pavement
Subgrade models for pavements, hardstands and road construction, ready to load and perform reliably on site.
High-Precision Models
Detailed models for structural excavations, foundations, footings, drainage, retaining walls and other precision works.
Control, Calibration and UTS
Establishing and verifying site control, calibrating localisations, and supporting UTS grader systems including troubleshooting.
Keeping the Data Honest
The model is the start. Keeping it aligned with what is actually happening on site is the ongoing job.
Existing Ground Surveys
Accurate existing surfaces captured before work starts, because every volume afterwards is measured against them.
Quantity Calculations
Quantities and earthworks tracking through construction, reported in a form the project team can use.
Progress by Drone
Tracking flown by drone to minimise site disturbance, compared against the same models on the machines for consistency.
Machine Control Across Victoria
Models Built for the Field
We do not simply convert design files. We build machine control models specifically for operators and the way machines work in the field.
That means clean, practical models optimised to maximise productivity while reducing ambiguity and unnecessary complexity. An operator should be able to load a model and start work, not spend the first hour working out which surface applies.
Every Platform in the Country
Our team has extensive experience preparing and supporting models across all of Australia's machine control platforms, including Trimble Earthworks, GCS900, Leica iCON, Topcon and others.
We understand the differences between each platform and deliver models that are ready to load and perform reliably on site, rather than models that technically export and then behave unpredictably.
Beyond Bulk Earthworks
Machine control is not just for bulk cut and fill. We regularly prepare subgrade models for pavements, hardstands and road construction.
We also build detailed models for structural excavations, foundations, footings, drainage, retaining walls and other high-precision construction works where accuracy is genuinely critical and the tolerance is not generous.
UTS Grader Systems and Site Calibration
We have extensive experience supporting UTS grader systems, including establishing and verifying site control, calibrating localisations and ensuring grading systems are operating accurately.
Whether you are setting up a new project, validating an existing model or troubleshooting a site calibration that has drifted, we provide the survey expertise to keep machine control operating at full potential.
Tracking Production Against the Model
To complement machine control operations we provide existing ground surveys, quantity calculations, earthworks tracking and progress reporting through construction.
This can be flown by drone to minimise site disturbance, and compared against the same models loaded on the machines. Running both off the same data removes the common argument where the surveyor's surface and the machine's surface were never quite identical.

It depends on the size and complexity of the design and how much of it needs modelling. A subgrade model for a single pavement area is a small job. A staged earthworks project with structures, drainage and retaining walls is larger. Send us the design files and we will quote against what is actually there rather than guessing.
Trimble Earthworks and GCS900, Leica iCON, Topcon and others, plus UTS grader systems. We understand the differences between platforms and deliver models ready to load and run on yours specifically.
Usually. Model problems are typically ambiguity, unnecessary complexity or an export that does not suit the platform. Send us what you have and we will tell you whether it is worth repairing or faster to rebuild.
Yes. We establish and verify site control, calibrate localisations and confirm grading systems are operating accurately. If a machine is reading wrong, calibration drift is one of the first things worth eliminating.
Yes. We provide existing ground surveys, quantity calculations, earthworks tracking and progress reporting, and we can fly it by drone to minimise site disturbance while comparing against the same models the machines are running.
Yes. We work across metro Melbourne, South West Victoria and Gippsland. Model preparation happens in the office regardless of where the site is, and we mobilise for the control and calibration work.
